As many of you likely heard or attended, we hosted a pancake breakfast in early October 2021 for the community. The 2021 Pancake Breakfast was the first breakfast that we've hosted in several years. Even though it had been the first in-house event in years, we were blown away by the support from our local community members.
We owe many thanks to the businesses and community members that helped make this event successful -
- The Hinckley Fresh Market - for assisting with purchasing and helping with pricing out supplies
- The Hinckley Big-Rock FFA - for sending volunteers to help cook and serve meals
- Brewista and the Bean - for donating coffee for us to brew and serve
The biggest thanks that we owe is to the members of the community that attended the event and to those that chose to support us by donating. Fundraisers like these are critical to the operation of a volunteer organization like HFD and allow us to better serve our community. We use the proceeds from community fundraisers to further the education of our members, purchase equipment, and to plan larger community events! In addition to in-house training, we are often sending department members to education programs for certifications like EMT, Basic Operations Firefighter, and even Paramedic school.
We are proud to be an integral part of the community and look forward to serving our district for years to come.
